耶穌吩咐完了十二個門徒，就離開那裏，往各城去傳道教訓人。約翰在監裏聽見基督所作的事，就打發兩個門徒去，問祂說，那將要來的是你麼？還是我們等候別人呢？耶穌回答說，你們去把所聽見所看見的事告訴約翰；就是瞎子看見，瘸子行走，長大痳瘋的潔淨，聾子聽見，死人復活，窮人有福音傳給他們。凡不因我跌倒的，就有福了。他們走的時候，耶穌就對眾人講論約翰說，你們從前出到曠野，是要看甚麼呢？要看風吹動的蘆葦麼？你們出去，到底是要看甚麼？要看穿細軟衣服的人麼？ (馬太福音11:1-8)

 

After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee. When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples to ask him, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else? "Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me. "As John's disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: "What did you go out into the desert to see? A reed swayed by the wind? If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings' palaces. (Mt.11:1-8)

  1. 不要因主絆跌
    　

    施洗約翰對基督不很了解，雖然施洗約翰曾為耶穌作的見證，說基督乃是神的羔羊，背負世人罪孽的(約1:29)；
    The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,     “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!  (Jn. 1:29)
    又說，看哪，神的羔羊(36節)。
    he said, "Look, the Lamb of God!"  (Jn. 1:36)

    基督受浸時，他也看見聖靈降在祂身上(32節)，
    Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. (Jn. 1:32)
    但這裏約翰卻因基督的工作絆跌了。他更說: “他不配為基督解鞋帶(27節)”，
    He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.    “ (Jn.約 1:27)
    但如今他差人去找基督，請告訴他  “祂是否基督”。

    另一面，基督也可能因施洗約翰而跌倒。他為何在獄中？接下來要發生甚事?
     今天許多人因主而跌倒，他們因基督的生活而跌倒。約翰的食物是蝗蟲野蜜，穿的是駱駝毛衣服(太3:4)
    John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. (Mt. 3:4)

    但是基督來了，祂是又吃又喝，與施洗約翰剛好相反(太11:19)。因這緣故，人就被絆倒了。
    'The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, `Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." '  (Mt. 11:19)
    人常常預先定好一個屬靈的人應該是如何如何；如果沒有合乎他們的觀念，他們就會被絆跌。

    　

  2. 不要因人事物絆倒
    　

    1. )保羅因福音的緣故多次下監被逼迫，但很多人也因此得復興，但更多人因此而離棄他。

    凡在亞西亞的人都離棄我、這是你知道的．其中有腓吉路和黑摩其尼。 (提後 1:15)
    You know that everyone in the province of Asia has deserted me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes. (II Ti. 1:15)

    我初次申訴、沒有人前來幫助、竟都離棄我．但願這罪不歸與他們。(提後 4:16)
    At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them.  (II Ti. 4:16)


    2. )    奉獻也可以使人憤恨不平互別苗頭
    耶穌對銀庫坐著、看眾人怎樣投錢入庫．有好些財主、往裏投了若干的錢。有一個窮寡婦來、往裏投了兩個小錢、就是一個大錢。耶穌叫門徒來、說、我實在告訴你們、這窮寡婦投入庫裏的、比眾人所投的更多． (可 12:41-43)
    Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. (Mk. 12:41-43)
    　

  3. 不被絆倒的路──撥雲見日，撥開事物的表象，看見屬靈的實質。
    　

    對一切事，我們必須要看見後面屬靈的實質，不要單單注意外表。雖然有千萬件事，是可以叫我們跌倒；但是我們撥雲見日，看屬靈的實質，不要因表面錯誤的事而受影響。而離了神的本意。

    1.)    忌妒耶穌的能力，而想盡辦法破壞耶穌的形像，無法看見神的兒子。

    法利賽人彼此說、看哪、你們是徒勞無益、世人都隨從他去了。 (約 12:19)
    So the Pharisees said to one another, "See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!“ (Jn. 12:19)

    2.)    馬大因拉撒路的死，無法看見耶穌所談背後的話語。

    馬大聽見耶穌來了、就出去迎接他．馬利亞卻仍然坐在家裏。馬大對耶穌說、主阿、你若早在這裏、我兄弟必不死。就是現在、我也知道、你無論向　神求甚麼、　神也必賜給你。
    When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home. "Lord," Martha said to Jesus, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask."

     耶穌說、你兄弟必然復活。馬大說、我知道在末日復活的時候、他必復活。耶穌對他說、復活在我、生命也在我．信我的人、雖然死了、也必復活．(約 11:20-25)
    Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again. "Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; (Jn.11:20-25)
