To be changed by Bible
(New living translation)
4
One day Jesus told a story in the form of a parable to a large crowd that had
gathered from many towns to hear him:
5“A farmer went out to plant his seed. As he scattered it across his field, some
seed fell on a footpath, where it was stepped on, and the birds ate it.
6 Other seed fell among rocks. It began to grow, but the plant soon wilted and
died for lack of moisture.
7 Other seed fell among thorns that grew up with it and choked out the tender
plants.
8 Still other seed fell on fertile soil. This seed grew and produced a crop that
was a hundred times as much as had been planted!” When he had said this, he
called out, “Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.” 9 His
disciples asked him what this parable meant.
10 He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of
God. But I use parables to teach the others so that the Scriptures might be
fulfilled: ‘When they look, they won’t really see. When they hear, they won’t
understand.’
11“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is God’s word.
12 The seeds that fell on the footpath represent those who hear the message,
only to have the devil come and take it away from their hearts and prevent them
from believing and being saved.
13 The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive
it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they believe for a while,
then they fall away when they face temptation.
14 The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message,
but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and
pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity.
15 And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted
people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest.
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
There was a child living in the orphanage, but he did not like
this place, where he lived bitterly and was almost unable to withstand. He was
extremely rebellious, and led with painful life. Finally he ran away from the
orphanage. In the time of fleeing, he also took the Bible which was given by nan.
After several years, this young man returned to the place where
initially left, and told person there, "After leaving the orphanage he began to
read Bible". He said , "Now I am willing to accept Jesus." People hearing
what he said were all extremely surprised.
Bible was really a marvelous book! A young man whose heart was
hurt and sorrowful read it once, then Holy spirit through Bible, let him
understand that he needed God's salvation.
Bible provides, is precisely what our world needs. People need
comfort, hope, pure and the pleasant words from Bible, and find good news of
Christ's salvation.
Not everyone who reads God's words will be able to return Christ, Jesus in
parable of sowing clearly points it out. (Luke 8 4:15). We want to sow seeds of
God's words, but we are unable to decide who will accept it. Our responsibility
is to sow the seeds.
Perhaps you always want looking for a good testimony to be a tool
for preaching the gospel. However, having not thought of God's words is exactly
what you seek. Why not give a Bible for whom you want to preach the gospel? Look
what it would happen. They will be changed by Bible.
The greatest book in the world is Bible,
Words in it are real and inspirational,
Someone once read it by the despite manner,
But find his life is changed and renewed.
God's words are an arrow, never once miss its goal.
